note to self:

• bring over startup log routines
  • use increment rather than timestamp since timestamp cannot be trusted on rpi
• improve status script
  • allow representing status of element as a series of green,red boxes
  • group into blocks of elements with its own subelements
  • status script should timeout and indicate to ui
  • ui can be shell script or webui/js
• improve monitoring of hardware components
• include power monitoring, battery or dc
• update powersave snippet and check actually disabling bluetooth, include rfkill if available
