The lfs=PRECIOUS pool option tells pools to run in disk-only mode and not flush precious files. This option was introduced in the initial dCache design before access latency and retention policy capabilities became available. Today, lfs=PRECIOUS makes no real sense and is often a source of system misconfiguration.
