Wifi Issue logread report issue with PHY0

Describe the bug

There is an issue with WiFi and PHY0 on Raspberry Pi 4b. logread reports the following:

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Could be notice on first boot

Expected behavior

PHY interface should be up in order to use the WiFi in AP

Installation

Please complete the following information

• RPi model: RPi 4 Model B
• Release version: 2024.08.01.001149

Network setup

Please complete the following information

• How is your RPi connected to your network? to the WAN router
• How are your LAN and WAN connections configured? configured as a DHCP client to the local home/office network, LAN is bridged to WiFi and isolated

Additional context

It seems to be a bug reported that is related and has been fixed on the next release of openwrt

Could we somehow tricker the github actions and build a new release? i tried to use act to build your github actions locally but there many .env variables and failed

Hi @zenonasz, the upstream project is on maintenance and the last version is 23.05.3. Triggering a new release will not include the new patches or version updates since releases depend on upstream changes.

Could you raise a bug report in https://github.com/wulfy23/rpi4 - once fixed we can re-trigger a release.

Looking at the referenced issue it looks like this is only a warning log and does not affect any functionality - therefore changing this to an enhancement instead.

my initial finding was that, Its a warning thrown and affect the initialization of the PHY0.

However I just manage to get it up using the instructions on this comment: wulfy23/rpi4#47 (comment)

I think you should include it in the documentation (or at one of your scripts) and close the issue.

@zenonasz perfect! I'll leave this issue open for the moment since it is indeed an issue if a manual workaround is needed.
