Best practice with Immich-Kiosk:

If I install Immich in a docker container on SSD and have thumbnails on the drive but library on HDD, when using Immich-Kiosk would that mean my HDD will constantly be running or does it use the cached thumbnails on SSD?

I would like to have Kiosk show as a photo frame, but not spinning up HDD all the time. Does that mean I need to have my photo files in SSD?

Are your Immich files on your Hdd or SSD?

I believe Immich will serve up the images (previews) from the SSD if they are stored there. Unless you choose to use the originals.

Does the HDD spin up when using Immich (no jobs running)?

Originally I indexed all my files that was on HDD and Immich Docker container was on SSD. If I need to have my HDD not spinning up with ImmichKiosk do I need to have all my picture files on SSD or can ImmichKiosk use cached files so not so not spinning up HDD?

It sounds like Kiosk would spin your disks up.

Kiosk caches api calls until the data is exhausted or 5 minutes of inactivity. The next image is cached in memory but currently it does not batch cache images.

I was toying with the idea of a offline mode but it's a lot of work.

There is a branch where I have been exploring this feature @Njur (https://github.com/damongolding/immich-kiosk/tree/feature/offline-mode) I wouldn't even say it's alpha yet but you can give it a whirl if you're brave enough

@damongolding: Do you know when a docker is available for Unraid for 0.21.0?

It should be available at the same time as the normal release as they just pull from the same image repo.

I would check you are using my UnRaid app as there is a community made one that is outdated. Mine is the ImmichKiosk one.

Odd mine is running 0.21.0. Did you try the "force update" if you're not seeing it has an update?
