FUNDING CONTRACT ERRORS - RESOLUTION SUMMARY

Issues Identified and Fixed

1. Field Entry Copying Issue ✅ FIXED

  • Problem: Flood level input was sharing state with funding amount field
  • Solution: Added separate newFloodLevel state variable
  • Status: Resolved in previous iterations

2. RPC Connection Problems ✅ FIXED

  • Problem: GitHub Codespaces deployment network connectivity issues
  • Solution: Added Codespaces RPC URL detection and automatic network switching
  • Status: Resolved in previous iterations

3. Contract Address Mismatch ✅ FIXED

  • Problem: Frontend was using outdated contract addresses
  • Solution: Updated to latest deployment addresses:
    • Paramify: 0x0B306BF915C4d645ff596e518fAf3F9669b97016
    • MockV3Aggregator: 0x9A676e781A523b5d0C0e43731313A708CB607508

4. ABI Import Error ✅ FIXED

  • Problem: PARAMIFY_ABI.some is not a function error
  • Root Cause: ABI was imported from contract artifact (full JSON) instead of just the ABI array
  • Solution: Updated import to extract ABI from artifact: PARAMIFY_ABI_JSON.abi
  • Code Change: 
    // Before
export const PARAMIFY_ABI = PARAMIFY_ABI_JSON as any;

// After  
export const PARAMIFY_ABI = PARAMIFY_ABI_JSON.abi as any;

5. getContractBalance Function Not Working ✅ FIXED

  • Problem: "not a function" error when calling contract.getContractBalance()
  • Root Cause: ABI was not properly structured as an array
  • Solution: Fixed ABI import to properly extract the function definitions

Current Status

✅ Verified Working

  1. Smart Contract: Deployed and functional at 0x0B306BF915C4d645ff596e518fAf3F9669b97016
  2. getContractBalance(): Function working correctly (tested via backend)
  3. Funding Workflow: Complete funding process verified
  4. Contract Balance: Currently 1.0 ETH
  5. Frontend ABI: Properly importing contract functions
  6. Network Connectivity: Hardhat local network connected

  1. Test funding functionality in frontend admin dashboard
  2. Verify balance updates after funding transactions
  3. Confirm no more "not a function" errors
