How can we seperate a MDF files to parts due to some certain signal before resampleing?

A logger works always but engines works a while, and the logged MDF file will have a long time logging but sometime without signal.
As we convert this file with resampleing ,the result file or dataframe will be very big ,
Can we use some way to seperate this MDF files before resampleing? for example some typical signals is frozen for a long time ? and cut it off?
