Commented-out assertions

In several test files (e.g. test-create_experiment.R:78), there are commented-out assertions.
It would be good to either:

• remove them, or
• re-enable them (if they are expected to pass)

Otherwise, it is unclear whether these represent incomplete tests or intentionally disabled checks.
