<p>As a Product Designer at Trayport, you will be responsible for the customer experience design of a world leading energy trading platform. From green-field cutting edge applications to existing tools that need to keep up to date with market trends and user needs. Asking the right questions and listening hard to the answers, from the data, users and the business to create slick workflows that encourages users to pick-up TMX Trayport.</p><h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul><li><p>Continuing to build the Product Design practice at Trayport, working with highly effective Product &amp; Technology teams to produce beautiful product design with intuitive workflows that makes the application irresistible to users.</p></li><li><p>Partnering with Product Management to design modern web and mobile applications for traders and brokers.</p></li><li><p>You will own the customer experience of the client facing applications at Trayport and ensure a consistent and coherent approach across the whole product.</p></li><li><p>Translating business requirements and customer insights into compelling ideas, wireframes, low &amp; high fidelity mock-ups and UI specifications.</p></li><li><p>User research to empathetically understand challenges users face with commodity trading systems, using a qualitative and quantitative approach.</p></li><li><p>Create wireframes and prototypes for design exploration and user testing</p></li></ul><h2>The Person</h2><ul><li><p>You focus on the design process and keep the end-user experience in mind to deliver best in class results.</p></li><li><p>You know that “doing things properly” isn’t always perfection, but knowing when to be scrappy and when to hone in on the details.</p></li><li><p>You want good inputs, from customers and the business, data focused and subjective empathic feels in equal measure.</p></li><li><p>You have a design instinct who is as happy designing a blank canvas to correcting pixels moments before release.</p></li><li><p>You will be working side-by-side with Product Managers and Developers to create world leading results; this is a great opportunity for someone who wants to expand their skills and work on products driven by a yearn to constantly improve and learn.</p></li></ul><h2>Skills and Experience</h2><h3>Essential</h3><ul><li><p>1+ years designing financial markets applications including electronic trading systems.</p></li><li><p>Sound experience in user research with a quantitative and qualitative approach to a feedback cycle. Leading user testing,</p></li><li><p>focus groups and metrics.</p></li><li><p>Ability to own a full design life cycle from specification, design wireframes, prototypes and working with developers to</p></li><li><p>implement.</p></li><li><p>Proven graphic design and UI prototyping software experience.</p></li><li><p>Empathic designer that can understand how a user feels to create excellent workflows and design.</p></li><li><p>Competent in agile working, not necessarily getting it right first time, but a constant focus on perfection.</p></li><li><p>Ability to present options and articulate design decisions, internally and with clients.</p></li><li><p>Proficient in designing Windows and Web applications (WPF,HTML/CSS).</p></li></ul><h3>Desirable</h3><ul><li><p>iOS and Android App design experience and can site examples of what worked well and what didn’t, along with challenges faced with both platforms.</p></li><li><p>Multivariate Testing (MVT) experience and can articulate how you applied it and why it was useful.</p></li><li><p>Strong communication and advocacy skills.</p></li><li><p>Portfolio of previous design work that outlines the problem, the process you applied, and the output of that process.</p></li></ul><p>Trayport is committed to creating and sustaining a collegial work environment in which all individuals are treated with dignity and respect and one which reflects the diversity of the community in which we operate.
