Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I try to introduce and educate people in Darktable and there is no other thing that causes as much confusion as the Diffuse or sharpen module. It is a very powerful, if not the most powerful, module in DT. But even for me using the program daily I need to go back and re-read and watch videos about the sliders every now and then to remind myself what the parameters do. Then, try to describe "laplacian of laplacian" to a person who didn't even know that laplacian was a thing.
The labels in the DoS module are really difficult for any person to understand, even more to a beginner.

Describe the solution you'd like
I would like to make the module more intuitive and easier to understand by changing the labels on the input parameters.
I think it is OK if the labels have hover hints that keep the original labels, but to make the inputs easier to understand they should be changed to text that is understandable

Alternatives
Please see my screenshot how I see the labels written in a way that most likely are not as accurate as the original labels but much easier to understand.
Sorry if my labels are way too off somewhere. I think these are still representing the inputs in a good way and at least they could give some hints on how to make the module simpler without changing the logic behind the panel.

All the best,
S
