Landscape format snapshot gets rotated by 90° when activating it on a portrait format image (and vice versa)

Describe the bug

In darkroom, I create a snapshot of a landscape format image. Then I switch to a portrait format image and activate the snapshot taken before. The snapshot now gets rotated by 90° to the left. The other way round, a snapshot of a portrait shot gets rotated 90° to the right, when activated on a landscape take.

The snapshot module overlays a snapshot over an image so that you can compare them. Having the snapshot and the image in different orientations wouldn't make sense.

Thanks for your quick reply. I understand that it is an overlay. And indeed I'm doing a comparison (checking color, exposure, etc. of two shots of the same motif). In this context it makes sense and it would be nice, if the orientation wouldn't matter. It's clear that the one image is wider / narrower that the other, but this may be addressed applying a temporary crop if necessary, I guess.

I'm not sure what would happen in you moved the split screen divider into just one image. I'm guessing it would try to build a display from the other and probably crash because of no data.

Let's see if anyone else has an idea. If not, you could always do a Feature Request. It may be that no one had a use case for different orientations until you.
