This bug is a timing issue when creating background processes in WSL

Please try the patched version in #524

thank you for the fix. By installing this version above, im not getting a error, but the ddev indicator is not showen anymore.
In the notifications i see this message:

by clicking on "Reload plugin", im getting the error again:

I can't replicate the issue myself. WSL with Docker CE is my main setup, but I'm not seeing this behaviour. That said, there were some more spots with potential init issues that I now added explicit progress indicator setup to.

Please try the updated build in PR #524.

Hmmm.... Could you maybe provide a config export of your IDE settings? That seems like the most promising attempt for being able to replicate the issue to me. AFAIK the config export is pretty save by default, but do check through the exported XMLs for any secrets though and strip them out before sending.

@armin-gardenanet I finally had a chance to look at the config export. I can reproduce it with that.

Update: That only goes for the current release version, I get the error there with every IDE start. However, I've not been able to reproduce it with the build in the PR.
