what happened to lock viewer button?

for quite some time I wondered where is the lock option on photos as I was 100% sure I enabled it long time ago.
Just realized I can't see it when I view the photos I took, so I checked twice and viewer > quick actions > lock viewer is in displayed button bar.
Is this some kind of a bug?
Checked issues and discussions but there's no mention about this feature.
I remember vaguely that this button could be hidden so that nobody seeing a blocked photo wouldn't have the possibility to unlock browsing the gallery. But I'm not even sure whether it's not my faulty imagination.

I'm not sure what you're referring to. There's a "lock viewer" action, but it's for videos only, and it's to prevent touches when playing the video.

hmm...probably it's my misunderstanding of this feature
while searching for answers I've stepped into requests for lock function when playing videos
my bad I didn't check fully video settings

so the question is more like: am I somehow able to display a photo and lock it down, so that when I give my phone to somebody I would like to show this photo, he wouldn't be able to switch to next/prev photos?

There is no such feature, and I do not intend to implement it.
