Migration from Haystack 1.x to 2.x: DocumentClassifier Issue

I wanted to reach out to see if you could provide any guidance or recommendations on the following:

I’m currently in the process of migrating from Haystack 1.x to version 2.x. However, I’ve noticed that the DocumentClassifier component is not available in Haystack 2.x.

Could you please advise on how to proceed with this migration, especially regarding the functionality provided by DocumentClassifier in the previous version? Are there any recommended alternatives or best practices to achieve similar results in v2.x?

Hello @chaalia You're right. The DocumentClassifier has not been ported to Haystack 2.0 yet. We are tracking this with the following issue #7669
There is an open pull request, which you could try out: #8193 Please feel free to provide feedback on the PR if you do!
An alternative would be to implement a custom component. We have instructions for that in Haystack's documentation: https://docs.haystack.deepset.ai/docs/custom-components
