Code of Conduct

Our Standard

Afterthought is a public project. Treat other contributors with respect, assume good intent, and keep technical disagreements focused on the work rather than the person.

Examples of expected behavior:

  • Be respectful and precise in code review and issue discussion.
  • Share context, reproduction steps, and evidence when reporting problems.
  • Accept feedback and course-correct without making the conversation personal.
  • Help keep the project welcoming to contributors with different levels of experience.

Examples of unacceptable behavior:

  • Harassment, intimidation, or personal attacks.
  • Discriminatory language or exclusionary behavior.
  • Publishing private information without permission.
  • Repeatedly derailing technical threads after a decision has been made.

Enforcement

Project maintainers may edit, remove, or moderate comments, issues, discussions, and pull requests that violate this code of conduct. Serious or repeated violations may lead to temporary or permanent bans from project spaces.

Reporting

If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior, contact the maintainer privately through GitHub rather than escalating publicly in the issue tracker.
