Warn if there are encoding errors when saving units or annotated source code

The problem identified in issue #165 when saving snippet information also applies when saving units and saving annotated source code.

The issue needs to be addressed in the same way issue #165 was fixed, i.e. by displaying a warning message when generated output does not match the full Unicode version of the output.
