Background:

Currently, retention is calculated based on Veterans who open the app for the first time and view the home screen. However, this calculation does not capture key scenarios that impact retention insights:

  1. Veterans who do not make it past the login screen.
  2. Veterans who immediately derive value by performing a core action in their first session, such as refilling a prescription or viewing a secure message.

Acceptance Criteria:

  • Update existing retention queries to account for:

    1. Veterans who open the app in their first session and return to open the app in subsequent months.
    2. Veterans who perform any of the following core actions in their first session and repeat the same core actions in subsequent months:
      • Start a prescription refill.
      • View appointment details.
      • View claims details.
      • View a secure message.
  • Create retention graphs to visualize:

    1. Veterans who open the app in their first session and open it again in subsequent months.
    2. Veterans who open the app, view the home screen in the first session, and view the home screen again in subsequent months.
    3. Veterans who perform a core action in their first session and perform a core action again in subsequent months.

Each graph should clearly layer the different retention scenarios for comparison.
