Windows: Change .config folder to legendary.exe folder

Is it posible to have .config on the same fodler as .exe... Wanted to cleanup everything and have it all together, as something portable.

You can set the LEGENDARY_CONFIG_PATH environment variable to control where Legendary keeps its config.

I can't test this right now, but theoretically a script like this (placed in the same location as legendary.exe) would make it always save into a config folder next to the executable:

There is no actual LEGENDARY_CONFIG_PATH environment variable... where is the actual configuration pointing to the users folder?

I imagine that this is like a Windows Best practice way of doing it, but since this is just a "portable" exe, for me seems to be more appropriated to have all together on a folder.

I'm not sure I understand the question. You're asking how Legendary determines its config path? That's done here:

legendary/legendary/lfs/lgndry.py

In terms of which path should be used by default, having a deterministic path is preferred IMO, especially one not relative to the EXE location. If you're actually installing Legendary, you'll likely put the executable into a path for general CLI programs (~/.local/bin on Linux for example). Tracking down the config becomes difficult in that case. Further, if you move the executable while not being aware of the fact that the config dir is relative, you might forget to move it & end up confused why your stuff's missing all of a sudden
