Verification Removes Fortnite Optional Content #728

Description

@S7NX

Platform

Operating system and version: Microsoft Windows 11 Pro, Version 10.0.26200
Legendary version (legendary -V): Legendary v0.20.34

Expected Behavior

Verifying the Fortnite game files through Legendary should also detect and verify all optional game components (e.g., high-resolution textures, pre-downloaded assets, and Save the World content). These optional add-ons should remain installed after verification and should not be removed or reset.

Current Behavior

When running a file verification with Legendary, the launcher verifies only the base Fortnite installation. During this process, it removes previously installed optional components; including high-resolution textures, pre-downloaded assets, and Save the World content. After verification, only the core game remains.

Steps to Reproduce

1.Install Windows 11 using “Keep personal files.”
2.Install Epic Games Launcher on a different drive (D:) instead of the previous drive (C:).

Additional information

The problem did not exist before reinstalling Windows. After the reinstall and relocating the Epic Games Launcher installation, Legendary’s verification behavior changed. This may be related to altered file paths, manifest locations, or missing metadata stored by Epic on the previous Windows installation.
