Doesn't show AirPods sometimes

Why does the CLI not show the same devices that the Sound preferences dialog shows?

Pretty sure this project is dead. I have had no luck getting it to see AirPlay devices, a pair of HomePods in my case. They show up in the Sound settings and menubar item.

I actually have not found any solution yet that finds these devices (AirFoil cli, AppleScript, other low-level MacOS executables, etc).
If you know of any alternative, please add it here since people looking for solution may also end up here.
