markdown-hard_line_breaks+escaped_line_breaks ?
Am searching around jgm/pandoc#3341
(making automatic newlines breaks)

@bonnebulle If you'd still like this, can you move to https://github.com/ChrisChinchilla/vscode-pandoc/issues which is the current project, sadly we were never able to get the original maintainer to put this repo into maintenance mode.
