Description
When publishing forms that include supplementary files, users may host their data on platforms like OSF (Open Science Framework) or similar repositories that assign DOIs. Currently, the form asks for supplementary files but doesn't provide a way to include DOI references for externally hosted supplementary materials.
Use Case
Many publications now include supplementary materials via external repositories (e.g., OSF, Zenodo). These repositories provide DOIs for the materials, but publication DOI metadata often doesn't include links to these supplementary DOIs. Having a dedicated field for supplementary material DOIs would:
- Improve discoverability of supplementary materials
- Standardize how these references are captured in the form
- Support modern open science practices
Proposed Solution
Add an optional field or section in the form to capture DOI(s) for supplementary materials, separate from file uploads.

This feature request is based on user feedback and should be discussed with stakeholders to determine priority and implementation approach.
