Lots of &nbps; in Discord Notifcations

I just wanted to bring your attention to this discussion where multiple users are getting lots of &nbps; in Discord notifications, including me. Do we have a fix or workaround for this?

I am using ChangeDetection on Docker myself.

This is what my notification body looks like:

Discord utilizes a subset of markdown for rendering message content on its clients, while also adding some custom functionality to enable things like mentioning users and channels. This functionality uses the following formats:

So therefor, the &nbsp is because you have HTML format set and there are white-spaces in the content layout that its trying to preserve.

  = "Non breaking white space" in HTML markup.

I was in the same situation as other users experiencing a Discord notification issue (related to spaces) when using the HTML notification format: I was receiving the notifications on Discord, but they were affected by unwanted spacing artifacts.

Based on your latest messages, I switched the notification format to “Plain Text.” However, in that configuration, I stopped receiving Discord notifications altogether.

I then continued investigating on my own yesterday and adjusted several settings, which eventually allowed me to receive notifications in the “Plain Text” format. That said, new issues appeared as a result. Following these problems, I realized that the issue seems to be more closely related to the monitored web page itself than to the notification handling, although I still do not fully understand why this is the case.

This is not todo with changedetection, it will be because of the page your following.

I think the solution is to FORCE a plain text format if discord:// is in the notification URL list
