Support other field types

Textarea shortening is nice, but you may have e.g. Users with screen-filling names and/or e-mail addresses, etc. which is not so well displayed using the Textarea field.
This is why I suggest supporting Text fields as well, which is what I use for pretty much any field unless specified otherwise.
