Play Store Upload Guide - Version 1.0.2

🚀 Upload Steps

1. Go to Play Console

Open: https://play.google.com/console

2. Select Your App

Navigate to: MoveLink - Moving & Delivery (com.movingplanner.app)

3. Create New Release

Path: Production → Releases → Create new release

Or if you're doing staged rollout:

  • Open Testing → Create release (for beta testers first)
  • Closed Testing → Create release (for internal team)
  • Production → Create release (for all users)

4. Upload AAB

Click "Upload" and select:

/home/dennis-muchai/kenya-movers-ai/android/app/build/outputs/bundle/release/app-release.aab

What Play Console Will Show:

  • ✅ Version Code: 3 (valid, higher than current 2)
  • ✅ Version Name: 1.0.2
  • ✅ Signed: Yes
  • ✅ Target API: 34 (Android 14)
  • ✅ Size: ~3.5 MB

5. Add Release Notes

Copy this to the "Release notes" field:

6. Review Changes Summary

Play Console will show comparison:

Previous: 1.0.1 (versionCode 2)
New:      1.0.2 (versionCode 3)

7. Set Rollout Percentage (Optional)

Recommended for first major update:

  • Start with 10% rollout
  • Monitor for crashes/issues for 24 hours
  • Increase to 50% if stable
  • Increase to 100% after 48 hours

Or go full release:

  • 100% rollout (all users get update immediately)

8. Review and Publish

  • Review all information
  • Check that version is 1.0.2
  • Verify release notes are correct
  • Click "Review release"
  • Click "Start rollout to Production"

How to Fix:

  1. Read rejection email carefully
  2. Fix the issue
  3. Increment version (1.0.2 → 1.0.3)
  4. Rebuild AAB
  5. Re-upload

🔧 Troubleshooting

Issue: "Version code must be higher than current"

Solution:

  • Current version code in Play Store: 2
  • Your new version code: 3 ✅
  • This should NOT happen (we incremented correctly)

Issue: "Signing certificate mismatch"

Solution:

  • Use same keystore as v1.0.1
  • We used: movelink-release-key.keystore ✅
  • This should NOT happen (we used correct keystore)

Issue: "Privacy Policy not found"

Solution:

  • We added links to mobile navigation ✅
  • Google will find them in:
    • Top hamburger menu
    • Bottom menu overlay
  • This should NOT happen (we fixed this!)

Issue: Upload failed

Solution:

  • Check internet connection
  • Try different browser
  • Clear browser cache
  • Re-download AAB and try again
