Please don't create folders/files in the root of my D drive

The installer creates a .docker folder in the root of my D drive on Windows 10.

Please use AppData or similar instead.

This could be if the %USERPROFILE% variable is not set; this package determines the homedir of the current user; https://github.com/docker/docker/blob/729c9a97822ebee2c978a322d37060454af6bc66/pkg/homedir/homedir.go#L36, also see http://superuser.com/questions/571974/userprofile-variable-not-working

I'm uninstalling for now, so I just wanted to mention exactly what it creates:

D:
    .docker
        machine
            cache
                boot2docker.iso

Edit: Hmm, which also seems to be in C:\Users\Glen\.docker\machine\cache.
