Missing documentation: is rootless docker compatible with userns-remap

Problem description

There is no mention of userns-remap in the documentation for rootless docker.
And there is no mention of rootless docker in the documentation for userns-docker.
Can rootless docker run with userns-remap?

I would also like to understand this. What is worse, it is quite hard to test as enabling userns-remap requires a fresh Docker setup.
