Failed setup. Failed getting data from device.

I am using a BT Proxy and am trying to figure out if that is my issue or if it is the placement of said proxy.

Is there support for proxies or just it be a USB Bluetooth integration?

I've not got a BT Proxy so unfortunately unable to test against that as a setup.

Can you think of any other reason it may fail? Do I need to have it paired with the app, or have it turned on to a setting first etc?

Would you be able to turn on the Debugging and then reload / share the output? I'm currently using the UGREEN Bluetooth 5.3 Adapter.

Hmm, I've not seen that one before, it looks like either the device, config, or the proxy setup is preventing HA from reading the current state of the Glow Dreaming device.

What's your setup for the Bluetooth Proxy? I could try and get something and run a similar setup myself.

I have an m5 stack atom lite running as a Bluetooth proxy.

I did do a bit of research and I think the proxy handles Bluetooth differently to the USB adapter does and that is why. I could be wrong through.

So I've tried it with the M5 Stack Atom Lite device and it seems to work on my setup. Could you go to the Bluetooth Settings > Connection slot allocations monitor > Connection Monitor, and do you see GlowDreaming on there?

With my M5 I installed the code directly from the ESPHome Bluetooth section and did not alter anything for reference.

I have just updated to 1.2.4 that appeared for me this morning and am now able to connect to the GlowDreaming device.

It’s exposed a light with on/off and a media player with no controls.

UPDATE: although the light has been exposed it does not have controls other than on/off and I cannot control it, I get ‘unknown error’ - if I manually change the state on the device itself it does not update in HA until I reload.
Not sure if it matters, when I reload I get an error that it failed to connect, then a second after it initializes again and connects.
