Double clicking ASPIRE006 error in VS takes you to the wrong file to fix.

After upgrading a project to 9.0 I get the following error

If I double click the error to go to the location to fix this, I get taken to an MSBuild targets file

Describe the solution you'd like

I'd like double clicking the error to take me to the relevant *.AppHost.csproj project so I can add the missing SDK in.

I'll also add that immediately after adding this SDK, VS immediately started complaining and refused to load the solution.

I had to instead provide a specific version <Sdk Name="Aspire.AppHost.Sdk" Version="9.0.0-preview.4.24477.2" /> instead of the <Sdk Name="Aspire.AppHost.Sdk" Version="9.0.0" /> given by the error message. Not too problematic if it only affects main branches, but something similar could affect any 9.0 pre-release builds.

Hey @afscrome, yes thank you for reporting this issue, I noticed it too yesterday. IGood that you found a workaround and I will fix this to show the right error message.

We won't be able to fix this in Aspire 9.0 as that is pretty much wrapped up at this point, so will take a look at this for 9.1.

At least on the 9.0 final, you don't need to specify the complete version number.

But the error message directs me to the .tagets file like the OP.
