Msal Auth stopped working on live environment - NullabilityInfoContext_NotSupported

Describe the bug

I randomly started hitting a NullabilityInfoContext_NotSupported exception in live environments with the auth package Microsoft.Authentication.WebAssembly.Msal which lives within this repo.

It might have been due to a recent update to the nuget package, but not entirely sure on that.

Our project is a Blazor wasm standalone app, which we are hosting on azure static sites.

This was a bug present in our live deployments, but never present on local builds.

After a lot of digging into it, we have resolved the issue by adding the following to our csproj:

<NullabilityInfoContextSupport>true</NullabilityInfoContextSupport>

We had never previously needed this in the csproj, so am wondering what has changed to suddenly need this now. I also have found no mention of others having the same issue, which worries me that we might have done something unintended as I would expect to see reports regarding this if something had changed beyond our scope.

Whilst I have a fix, I am interested to know why this happened in the first place, and also how we could have possibly known to prevent this in advance etc.

We are using version 8.0.11 of the nuget package Microsoft.Authentication.WebAssembly.Msal.

I started encountering this on Friday too, your resolution also worked for me.

My error was regarding Microsoft.Authentication.WebAssembly.Msal as well as a few other packages, some of which I don't believe reference MSAL. I'm also hosting on Azure Static Web Apps.

It's making me suspect a change in the Azure Static Web Apps platform or build tools, or something in their dependency chain.

As far as preventing it, in my case I make use of Static Web App deployment environments, so I caught it before production at least.

I got this exception as well in two Blazor WASM applications, both running in Azure Static Web Apps. One was using version 8.0.8 of Microsoft.Authentication.WebAssembly.Msal and the other was using version 8.0.11.

The exception also went away for both applications after adding

<NullabilityInfoContextSupport>true</NullabilityInfoContextSupport>

Hey, thanks for the response.

I've just tested this by updating to 8.0.12, and removing <NullabilityInfoContextSupport>true</NullabilityInfoContextSupport> from the csproj, and the issue returns. It still requires the change to csproj to work in 8.0.12 for me.
