You are right, this is a solution even in .net 7 with EF Core 9

Would be nice to have an update fix this. I know this repo is not actively maintained anymore, but a lot of us are still stuck (partly) on ef6, and without a fix for this, we are stuck on langversion 13

The fact that it's a runtime error makes it an especially dangerous breaking change since you have no idea what the impact will be.
