No rule to make target 'getopt_long.o'

Hi,

I tried to compile it on AIX but ran into:

gmake[2]: Entering directory '/devel/sg3_utils-1.48/lib'
gmake[2]: *** No rule to make target 'getopt_long.o', needed by 'libsgutils2.la'.  Stop.

AIX has no long options and the included getopt_long seems to have fallen through the cracks.

The source for getopt_long is there in subdirectory getopt_ling but there are no rules to build it as it hasn't been needed for a long time (approaching 15 years). There are still remnants there (e.g. GETOPT_O_FILES in configure.ac).
Are you still able to test this if I try to resurrect the building of that file?

Try it now. It is a test to see if it builds on AIX. The pass-through code is dummied out (see sg_dummy.c). If you get executables look at the inhex directory. The files can be used with the corresponding executables with examples at the top of those inhex files. If AIX doesn't have a generic SCSI pass-through, only ones based on low level drivers (e.g. a driver for a LSI SAS card) then I can't go any further (chargpt was uncertain). IOS has such a stupid setup, hence no generic SCSI tools for IOS. DKIOCMD seems to be the ioctl() for AIX.

Could you have another try now. If getopt.h is not in the system headers this change will attempt to copy a locally held getopt.h (in the lib directory) to the include directory. I assume from the last attempt that you were able to build the library part of sg3_utils.
