Trivial non-bug in date string formatting with Windows 11

A trivial non-Keynote NF date string formatting bug for the %D in the “Clipboard capture” area of the keynote.ini affects Windows 11.

On all the Windows versions I used up through Windows 10, %D would give me “03/27/26”.
But in Windows 11, I get “04 22 26” – no slashes.

I have other programs with the same issue, so I know it's not this dev's fault.

If anybody has a usable workaround fix for this, we could discuss that.

It's an issue with Windows 11, it changed the regional settings in it's engine.
btw I get 2026 not 26

Honestly, I would change %D to: %m/%d/%y

RUN (Win+R) intl.cpl you can see the short-date there or go click Addtional settings... then the Date tab and manually change the short date field, by default it should be M/d/yyyy

Or via settings: Additional date, time & regional settings, and then the Change date, time, or number formatting

Personally I use: yyyy-MM-dd
If you want to keep leading zeros: MM/dd/yyyy
leading zeros with 2 digit year: MM/dd/yy

I've been using the following for years, under Windows 7 and 10:

WCDivider="^--- %D, %T ---^%|[%U]^%|"
and have gotten output like:
--- 10/13/18, 2:58 PM ---

Changes in Control Panel show up for my taskbar date and Windows native File Explorer, but don't affect KeyNote NF, and at least two other programs I use.

So I overlooked a part when I took a second look

Here is an image summary

The Windows Date effects the node names
while the format date effects the clipboard part

So go to KeyNote OPTIONS (alt t c)
Then go to Advanced > Format
Then change that Date format

Personally I use: yyyy-MM-dd
I think the default should be something like: d MMMM yyyy

Then go to the Clipboard page again

I use the following settings
Divider: ---^Date: %D^Time: %T%|^SRC : %S%|^---^^
new note name: use current date and time
and the webclip diver: ---------

I like looking at dates, I'll manually append text to the note's name when I look and process it
without a name, I know it's on my todo list

The %U doesn't work for me.

What I previous posted is still valid, but it effects the title not the content page section, here is a screenshot Edit: I put the screen shot at the top of my comment

So different parts of the OS and various programs handle date strings differently in Windows 11.
I should have noted that in my first post.

My specific problem was with Clipboard Capture. Other date strings in KeyNote NF were unchanged in Windows 11. I have other programs where their date string handling is messed up, due to the Windows internals bug.
