Request for Documentation: Testing MCP Server via local Script or Bedrock Agents

Hi team 👋,

I'd like to test the MCP Server locally to streamline development and experimentation—ideally through:

1. A local script (e.g., Python or Bash), or
2. Using Amazon Bedrock agents, since there’s already an integration with MCP.

It would be really helpful to have documentation or guidance that covers:

1. How to run the MCP Server locally (if supported).
2. How to send input to MCP from a local script.
3. How to invoke MCP via Bedrock agents, with examples if possible.

I'm using a Linux machine without a UI, so the example with Claude isn't applicable for my setup.

hey @ijtarano thanks for the feedback, apologies for the delay in response, I will bring this up internally for review.

It would be helpful to know your the tools you are bringing together with the Dremio MCP Server to build your solution, could you share?

Regarding 1 - tho you are on a Linux machine without a UI I you can still use the command line instructions to bring the server online and then start an MCP Inspector to validate.

Regarding 2 - this would be a good example I agree!

Regarding 3 - this is something we should definitely consider.
