Run MCP server into streamable-http mode

Hi all,
I was wondering what is the recommended way to run this MCP server using the streamable-http transport mode.
The only way I managed to do it was by modifying the code inside the mcp.py script, but even then I wasn't able to set the port number.

Hi, the MCP server dependency needs to be updated too.
I did some tests for this and got it somewhat working.

However, a better approach at this stage IMO is to place a stdio <-> http-streamable proxy in front of the dremio mcp server.

I have a working docker compose setup in dremio-mcp-docker.
It works, but I have not it used in production yet.

Hi Serra,
I ran some tests with your repository — first of all, compliments for your approach, it was exactly what I needed. I tried it with Copilot, Claude, and even in Langflow by switching the supergateway mode to SSE, and it works.

At the moment, I just need it for local testing and prototyping of agents — I don’t plan to go into production for now.

@aniket-s-kulkarni Is streamable http transport support on roadmap for dremio-mcp in short term to medium. If so, can you share tentative timelines Based on that, we were going to consider does an http proxy/gateway need to built to convert client http request to stdio request for current state of dremio-mcp. This is in an enterprise setting.

@skyalfonsil @rdkworld @serra - the support is in works. The idea is to break it up into smaller chunks, to ensure that it will help both DC and SW based deployments. I will be making some preparatory PRs for this support.
