Hi,

I installed the new version 1.18, this error happened

Error in validObject(result) :
invalid class “SpatialExperiment” object: superclass "ExpData" not defined in the environment of the object's class

I had a old version 1.16 on the other iMac, it is without any problem.

how to fix the error?

sorry for the inconvenience, but it seems it's not related to the SpatialExperiment class, but more on the ExpData class.

Hi @zqmiao-mzq , this was a bug related to the recent Bioconductor release. I think it has been fixed now. Could you please try re-installing SummarizedExperiment and SpatialExperiment with force = TRUE as follows and try again, and let us know if you are still having this problem?

BiocManager::install("SummarizedExperiment", force = TRUE)
BiocManager::install("SpatialExperiment", force = TRUE)

I was facing the same issue. Reinstalling SummarizedExperiemnt and SpatialExperiment with the above commands didn't solve the issue for me.

This worked for me:

BiocManager::install("SingleCellExperiment", type = "source", force = TRUE)

The reinstallation of packages worked for me. Can this be closed @zqmiao-mzq ?
