While this does show the packaging situation, if this were to be included there would need to be a clear explanation that the freedv-gui developers do not have the resources to support packaging for other distros apart from those explicitly mentioned in the user manual.

IIRC the website specifically recommends NOT packaging until things are more stable (RADEV2). Not sure there's value in posting this at all until then.

I don't see a problem with including this in the future as @tmiw mentions, but we do need to make it clear that distro packaging is not part of the current project beyond what is agreed in the management meetings for the ARDC grant.

It's quite easy to run the program without installing it into the system locations, while we have the python code installed by necessity a full packaging process is quite a difficult task and doesn't achieve much. It will be much simpler to package once the RADE code is ported to a C library when the RADEV2 implementation is complete.

It may be worth mentioning my easy to use script again here, which already simplifies building FreeDV rade in many (20+) Linux distributions. No need to worry about versions of packages.
