.duckdb connection not closing even after successfull closing of db in java by using .close() method

Again trying reopen the connection after immediate close() it throws exception 'File already in use'

Hi! Are you using any specific DB features when observing this problem? Can your use case be minimized to some reproducible example?

Trying a simple example like the following, I cannot reproduce it:

        String url = "jdbc:duckdb:test.db";
        for (int i = 0; i < 128; i++){

                 Statement stmt = conn.createStatement()) {
                stmt.execute("drop table if exists tab1");

                 Statement stmt = conn.createStatement();
                 ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery("select * from tab1")) {
                rs.next();
                assertEquals(42, rs.getInt(1));
            }
            try (Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection(url);
                 Statement stmt = conn.createStatement()) {
                stmt.execute("drop table tab1");
            }

@Adisekharp Are you using both a file-based DuckDB database and MotherDuck in the same application? MotherDuck connections keep the underlying database instance alive for a default period of 15 minutes. You may need to set motherduck_dbinstance_inactivity_ttl to 0 (docs).
