Query Regarding Dissertation Formatting Issues

I used the BSU graduate thesis LaTeX template for my dissertation, and the Graduate College has requested that I remove any blank pages. I attempted to address this by commenting out the \cleardoublepage command, but I wanted to confirm if that is the correct approach.

Additionally, I noticed that the \tableofcontents is not displaying the correct page numbers for some sections. If it would be helpful, I can grant you access to the document so you can take a look and better understand the issue.
