Could you please elaborate? I don't really know what you are working with, because the official release of matRad does not support VMAT, there is only a research branch that is not fully functional... can't be of much help without more information. |

I am not the best person to answer this, probably, as I was not deeply involved in the VMAT development and am no expert in this. I can give you some general answers:
In principle, VMAT continuously changes dose-rate and MLC shape. This is the delivery aspect. On the machine side, the standard approaches used the following approach, which is also implemented on the matRad branch:
