Generate Barcode in BIRT

I had experience generating barcodes for BIRT. We created a separate web service that generates barcodes. You send a request to the service, pass the necessary data, and it returns an image containing the barcode or QR code.
BIRT allows you to use the Image element to insert pictures into a report. This element works with any URL. You can also pass a parameter value into the URL to encode it as a barcode or QR code.

If your WS is written in Java, then this is overkill. Much easier to call your Java code directly from JS inside BIRT.
