What's missing?

In the current state the protocol only supports JWT-VC but no LDP.

Why should it be in the spec?

Should support multiple VC formats explicitly not just one

Where should this be added?

• self issued token
• issued credential types

If i get some support here i will do a PR for the spec in regards of the protocol and with reference to the OID4VC spec

DCP does not mandate any particular proof type for VerifiableCredentials. Self-Issued ID tokens is a different thing, for this we require JWTs.

The specific credential formats are defined in profiles, and we currently define two concrete ones.

If you want to specify a different profile (e.g. "vc20-bssl/ldp" = VCDM2.0, BitStringStatusList and LD-proofs), you will have to define that profile and write your own spec for it.

As with all things: if there is widespread adoption or demand for a particular profile, we can discuss adopting it in the core DCP spec, but until such time, that profile should remain in your own context.
