Worked one time, now generating error message (v2.1.2)

Thanks for updating this, really appreciate it. The first time I ran v2.1.2 everything worked great, guide updated and was recognized in Kodi. After a couple of days I noticed it wasn't running automatically as it had in the past. Tried to run manually using "Re-run internal EPG Grabbers" in the Tvheadend web interface and got these log messages...

I'm not using a Raspberry Pi image for my TVH but rather synology DSM, but this looks like either:

1. the TVH user, if using a virtual python environment is missing requests wheel (which can be installed using pip)
2. if using the system python environment then liekewise, requests wheel is missing (similar fix using pip)
3. or this is a permission issue

Thanks @Thoma7 for the comment. I learned more about request today.

For the libreelec/kodi system , it does not support pip? I think the module needs to be packaged in somehow if needed.

I forget that LibrfeElec doesn't allow you to do much with the OS. I am assuming you are running Kodi 21.x?

If you can get to your KODI install location, search under addons for a folder called "script.module.requests". This addon should be installed when the zap2It addon is installed. You can download the requests addon through Kodi or through Kodi's website. If the folder is not there, install it through Kodi.

If the folder is there, open the addon.xml file inside the folder and let me know the version number installed.

Thanks for the info. I have a spare RPi3 that I downloaded the latest LibreElec to. I'll install TVH 4.2 and install the zap2epg addon to try and reproduce the error. Give me a couple more days. I am currently having an issue with Kodi 20.1 on my Win11 machine. It doesn't seem to want to see the other installed addons which, I think is similar to your situation.

Do you have automatic updates enabled on the system? If so, is there a way for you to downgrade to the previous version?

I'm running TVH 4.3-2091 LibreELEC Tvh-addon v20.5.0 on CoreELEC 20.5-Nexus. I've upgraded to Zap2EPG v2.1.3. Zap2EPG will update the the guide data when run directly from the Zap2EPG addon. However it no longer runs automatically nor can I manually run it from TVHeadend. The addon.xml file version 2.31.0 in script.module.requests folder is installed.

Alrighty. I was able to track it down. Very specifically, LibreElec does not allow one to install additional python packages outside the Kodi environment. Since the script is running in TVH and not in Kodi, the script cannot find the requests package... even though Kodi has the module.

Here is a modified 2.1.0 version updated to use the gracenote website. I am learning how to use the installed package to authenticate using oAuth before I can get a new release out for LibreElec.

Thanks, I installed 2.1.0 and was able to manually run the EPG update from TVHeadend. Hopefully it will automatically run tomorrow morning.

Edit: I can confirm that the EPG grabber successfully ran this morning.

2.1.0 worked for me as well, will verify the auto run in the morning. Thanks again for this add-on, it's run as expected and been incredibly helpful over the 3 years I've been using it.
