Description
This one is just my opinion as opposed to an error. The following page:
https://www.elastic.co/docs/current/serverless/elasticsearch/ingest-data-file-upload#how-to-upload-a-file
....takes you through the first steps but it feels like a pointer rather than complete documentation. For example, if I were a new user:
- I click the "Upload a file button"
- The UI appears
- Now what? It feels like the doc page just ends abruptly
In my opinion there needs to be some text at the bottom. Obviously what happens next will depend on the data source, but there should be some generic text similar to "Either drag a file to the upload icon, or click to select a file from your file system. Once the file is analysed you will be taken to a page that will allow you to set some upload options. Once you are happy with the settings click Import to upload your data into an index. You can now use this index for analysis".
Obviously screenshots and step-by-step would be even better but I don't know how much they vary dependant on source file type. In an ideal situation it would take you to the final screen and maybe suggest the Discover link for new users.
