[XY] snap to data

Sometimes charts have sparse data. It is difficult to find just the right place to put my mouse to see the tooltip.

This is true even when snap-to-grid is enabled. See the chart below.

Describe the solution you'd like
The datapoints are always going to be the important thing on a chart. It would be great to snap the selection to them instead of the grid. That would remove the difficulty of trying to find just the right place to hover.
