Testing ISO Images

To ensure publicized ISOs are generally usable and of good quality, we QA them using the following process.

General Checklist 📝

Verify:

  • Sources lists are valid and point to the correct repositories
    • stable, no daily
    • AppCenter
    • OS patches
    • bionic in Ubuntu repos
  • Default wallpaper is correct 📷

Hardware- and configuration-specific 💻

  • Live session, installer, and installed OS work correctly with loDPI
  • Live session, installer, and installed OS work correctly with HiDPI
  • Wi-Fi works on as many device models as possible (Intel Wi-Fi, Broadcom, etc.)*
  • Boot and install with UEFI
  • Boot and install with legacy BIOS
  • Boot and install with secure boot off
  • Boot and install with secure boot on
  • Install and boot into installation with encryption
  • Install and boot into installation without encryption

* Note: some Broadcom devices will not have Wi-Fi in the live session until the "Install third-party software" box is checked
