Setting up an Input Method crashed my profile on a clean ElementaryOS 8 install #524

What Happened?

Hello,

I'm giving a try at the new ElementaryOS 8 (from Deepin) and did a fresh install of ElementaryOS. After a big setup bug (yet to file), I went on to configure my session as such:

  • My system is set to English
  • My keyboard layout is Spanish
  • I need to be able to input simplified Chinese

However, setting up an input method, whatever its value leads to a crash in my session profile. I can no longer signing unless clearing the session config.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create profile (part of fresh setup) from an English language install.
  2. Go to Settings, Keyboard
  3. Set layout to Spanish - Windows
  4. Add an input method (I tried, Spanish - Windows, or Chinese - Intelligent Pinyin)
  5. Log out
  6. Log back in and be able to use the 2 input methods as configured

Expected Behavior

  1. Create profile (part of fresh setup) from an English language install.
  2. Go to Settings, Keyboard
  3. Set layout to Spanish - Windows
  4. Add 2 input methods (Spanish - Windows ++ Chinese - Intelligent Pinyin)
  5. Log out
  6. Log back in for a white screen of death (see screenshot)
