AI: EMQ SDV WG ideas to be added to one of next TSC meeting agenda
- Continue discussion, already involvement in AGL SDV activities by EMQ.
- Chat also with Walt about it.
- Poll shows a preference to have the meeting at Nvidia in San Jose
- New date to be checked for November after OSS Korea (due to TSC chair absence in October)
- Options: Nov 10th+11th, Nov 11th+12th, Nov 17th+18th
- Have potentially a side event (ELISA mini summit) around OSS Korea to pick up people from Asia as well.
- Tentative idea: Tues Nov 4th afternoon
- Good fit for those attending OSS Korea.
- Boeing is has team in Korea which may participate.
- Content (focus Automotive) by EMQ (Jaylin) to the mini summit is very welcome.
- Try to conclude date and venue within next 2 weeks (max. 3 weeks)
- Should we try to have an official survey on the "quality" of Open Source Software components?
- Who would be interested in preparing a survey together with LF Research?
- Past research examples conducted by LF Research: https://www.linuxfoundation.org/research
- Due to new regulation like CRA and related, people come up with concerns on the software they are using/consuming. A survey can be useful to collect thoughts and evidences to settle grounds on the usage of Open Source with a focus on quality aspects.
- Set what is a quality baseline of open source.
- Example to consider for Community health as an existing framework already provided by LF: https://insights.linuxfoundation.org/project/nanomq/repository/nanomq-nanomq?timeRange=past365days&start=2024-07-02&end=2025-07-02
- Others may come from LF OpenSSF Scorecards, TODO, OpenChain, CHAOSS, ...
- Simone wants to start writing down a glossary in ELISA directory.
- Start to collect terms until next week, put it on the branch so that others can share feedback.
- This creates an initial overview and can be enhanced
- Different communities use terms differently. This can be confusing, if not handled properly.
- Terms can be different e.g. safety function from IEC 61508 is something different than the safety relevant function in ISO 26262, which itself has another meaning in IEC 61508.
- Keep it short and brief.
- Simone will lead, Nicole, Pete, Olivier, and Chris are willing to provide feedback on the draft.
- Discussion took place during OSS NA in Denver last week.
- Continue the discussion on Tuesdays at the AGL SDV EG meeting at 12:00 UTC (14:00 CEST)
- Architecture in AGL is not settled completely and role of Linux need to become clear.
- Once role is clearer, we take next actions inside ELISA. So far Architecture WG and Automotive WG will participate in Tuesdays AGL SDV EG meeting starting from August 19th onwards.
- Check: https://chat.elisa.tech
- Working group leads will receive a mail, to decide, if they want to have their own channel.
- Safety-Critical track will be available.
- ELISA is sponsor and will have a booth.
- We need support for staffing.
- Min will drop a mail to TSC and ambassadors for support.
