Diablo 1: (dxwrapper.ini) no working configurations for Fullscreen mode.

Please could you provide the best configurations for Diablo 1 on Windows 10? It all just turned off except those with "AUTO" settings. The only thing that works has been the [Hot patch] section since the game works without the CD mounted as the DIABDAT.MPQ on the main install folder. Also, since I'm just a noob about .ini configurations, it's worth asking on how to put directory path for the Stub folder dll files in the dxwrapper.ini settings. I've been over few days to now on setting up this configurations. Please help...

btw, I'm using the No-CD patch of Diablo 1.exe, and it's version 1.09 that's downloadable on the link below. It generates it's own Diablo.exe file as or patches the original .exe

Other issues:

• I can't use ALT+Tab for window switching while the game's active, until it's been Endtasked the .exe on Task Manager. If there's a way to fix it, please tell me.

• even if it launches on window size or like in the picture, the Intro cinematic won't play after the Blizzard Entertainment and the Blizzard North like it used to be. Please could you tell me how to fix it ?

Wow. You have too many settings enabled. The only thing you need for Diablo 1 is Dd7to9 and if you want the no-cd patch then you need the options in the [HotPatch] section.

Here is an example of what the ini file should look like: dxwrapper.ini.txt

Attached is the latest dxwrapper build with all the files and settings you need for Diablo 1/Hellfire: dxwrapper.zip

Note: Make sure you copy the DIABDAT.MPQ file from the CD to Diablo installation folder if you want the no-cd patch to work.

Note 2: if you are playing Hellfire then you may want DdrawRemoveScanlines enabled also.

Thank you for your response. My problem is no longer about launching the game with/without the actual CD rom. DIABDAT.MPQ is already in the install folder. But I tried this configuration you suggested, though.The problem is on how to set it fullscreen mode whenever the game is launched, not like in the picture from above. The configuration only triggers the [HotPatch] perfectly but can't do fullscreen stretched... Is there any other solution there? Please help me make it run normally in fullscreen stretched. I also hope that there's a fix for the ALT+Tab function as the game runs.

I haven't thought about installing the Hellfire yet since I'm still figuring out the fullscreen stretch settings to work. I wpuld do it afterwards or if it's needed.

What is the Alt+Tab issue?

The problem is on how to set it fullscreen mode whenever the game is launched, not like in the picture from above.

The game will automatically run in full screen mode, which is 640x480 (if your computer supports that resolution). All you need enabled is dd7to9 only for that.

However, if you want the game to stretch and use your native resolution you can enable these options, in addition to dd7to9:

If you don't mind different sized pixels and you want the game to fill the screen you can disable DdrawIntegerScalingClamp. Also, you want to stretch the image and remove the pillarboxes on the right and left you can disable DdrawMaintainAspectRatio.

I set the those options and it won't work still. Even if I change the Display settings on the Desktop, configure a profile settings on Intel HD Graphics options, it won't work. The Display settings on the Desktop can just downscale the window size in general but when the game is launched it's just get bigger but not full screen; and it's not stretched on the screen.

ALT+Tab function won't switch the active window that's running when in the game.... It's the common function of the Alt+TAb is to switch the active app, right?...

I just think there's no other way the wrapper itself can fix it, maybe there're some other ways that can fix it, not just the dxwrapper alone. it would just take a while to know it and search it on the internet. The [Hotpatch] function works perfectly of this wrapper, is the only thing on dxwrapper that I think is needed to pair with other resources
