Deployment Checklist

Backend:

  • Configure at least 2-3 RPC URLs for production resilience
  • Set up AWS S3 bucket or GCS bucket with proper IAM permissions
  • Generate secure 32-character BACKUP_ENCRYPTION_KEY
  • Test backup/restore workflow in staging environment
  • Configure monitoring alerts for backup failures
  • Set up log aggregation (Datadog, ELK) for Winston JSON logs

Frontend:

  • Credit simulator can be added to onboarding flow or deployed as standalone page
  • Test localStorage autosave across different browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari)

Smart Contracts:

  • Complete lending-pool integration for dynamic rates
  • Deploy updated verification registry with rate config to testnet
  • Test rate updates and verify new loans use updated rates
  • Audit contract changes before mainnet deployment

Known Limitations

  1. Contract Issues #256 and #258: Require Rust development, testing infrastructure, and security auditing
  2. Dynamic Rates (#257): Registry side complete, lending-pool integration pending
  3. Backup Recovery: Requires manual intervention and brief database downtime
  4. RPC Failover: Backward compatible with single URL configuration

Next Steps

  1. Complete lending-pool integration for dynamic interest rates (#257)
  2. Write comprehensive unit tests for rate changes
  3. Implement clawback mechanism for defaulters (#256)
  4. Design multi-stablecoin architecture (#258)
  5. Set up backup failure alerting (email/Slack/PagerDuty)
  6. Monitor Winston logs in production aggregator
  7. Deploy with at least 2-3 RPC providers configured

Notes

  • RPC failover is backward compatible - single SOROBAN_RPC_URL still works if SOROBAN_RPC_URLS is not set
  • Form autosave uses localStorage key onboarding-form-draft - can be cleared manually if needed
  • Structured logs include requestId for distributed tracing when using cls-rtracer
  • Credit simulator is a pure client-side component with no backend dependencies
  • Database backups are encrypted with AES-256-CBC before cloud upload
