--merge-disk issue

I'm getting the following error that I think is related to --merge-discs

WARN: Apple - IIGS (A2R): no single archive contains all necessary files, cannot link these different input files to: Output/apple-iigs/Space Quest I - The Sarien Encounter (USA).zip:
WARN: Games/No-Intro/Apple - IIGS (A2R)/Space Quest I - The Sarien Encounter (USA) (Disk 1).zip|Space Quest I - The Sarien Encounter (USA) (Disk 1).a2r
WARN: Games/No-Intro/Apple - IIGS (A2R)/Space Quest I - The Sarien Encounter (USA) (Disk 2).zip|Space Quest I - The Sarien Encounter (USA) (Disk 2).a2r

Is there something else I need to do to get merging to work?

That log indicates that:

• Neither the igir zip nor igir extract commands were provided
• Igir is trying to write a file named Space Quest I - The Sarien Encounter (USA).zip
• But the only places it found the necessary files were in two separate zip files

And because the commands are only letting Igir copy or move files, not rewrite them, it is unable to fulfill what you're probably intending.

ah! ok, I'm also linking in this case, so even if I provide zip/extract I'll probably not get what I want here.

so in the case that I want to take an input folder where the files are separate and zipped, I need to use igir move zip --overwrite?

@emmercm I'm running into a similar thing that I don't quite get. I'm running the following command:

my current output folder has:

- dual disk game
  - dual disk game (disk 1).iso
  - dual disk game (disk 2).iso

and in my input folder I have:

  - dual disk game (disk 1).rsv
  - dual disk game (disk 2).rsv

I want the .rsv files to replace the .iso files, but I get the following error:

Here's the situation:

• The igir zip command says you want most files in your output to be zipped
• --zip-exclude is not letting ISOs get zipped
  • but it doesn't mean that ISOs will get extracted, it just means the input files will be preserved

So the only input combination Igir can use is:

• Already extracted ISOs, which will both get copied to the output without any manipulation
• ISOs archived in the same archive (and RVZs are considered an archive), and that archive will be copied to the output without any manipulation
